Best New Games to play in July 2017
Looking for new cool games to play in July? Look no further as we slice and dice, and look in the depths of App Stores to hunt and gather the best new games on mobile. Some of them will be really new, as in having released in the past week or so, while others have been out for nearly a month. Expect no restrictions to genre: from RPG to strategy, to shooters and puzzlers, sports games and all else. With that, let’s get into this list and see what new games are available to get rid of boredom.
Angry Birds Evolution
The new Angry Birds game is here and this time around you have to “form a feathered team and stop invading pigs”, as simple as that. With over 100 new and angrier birds, you will get a bigger and badder flock to fight against the Pigs invasion of Bird Island. The enemies also numerous: you have over 90 different types of egg-stealing pigs.
Asphalt Street Storm Racing
The new Asphalt game just launched by Gameloft is the hottest racing game of the moment, and it focuses on the wild world of drag racing. You can drive across several cities, like Paris, New York and Hong Kong. And for a challenge, you’re faced with brutal weather events, like rain and snow storms. The single player mode is fun, but multiplayer is much more thrilling. The graphics in this title make the action come to life, thanks in particular to the light reflections.
forma.8 is a unique take on the proven Metroidvania action-adventure formula, with a striking visual style and a huge world to explore. As the small exploration probe forma.8 you’re stranded alone on the surface of an alien planet. Separated from your companions by accident you have a life or death mission to accomplish. Find and recover a lost, powerful energy source before it’s too late.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends
If you’re into card battlers and you’re a fan of the Elder Scrolls franchise, then this is definitely worth looking into. It’s free just like Hearthstone and other similar games, but it has a unique take on the way you do battle between your opponents as it features a two-lane game board, so you’ll have to split your cards between lanes and essentially battle on two fronts.
Pokémon Magikarp Jump
Pokémon fans! We leave aside the adventure of Pokémon GO and the many Pokémon available there to hunt, and we focus on Magikarp, the most useless Pokémon. Fans of tamagotchis could well find something here that they like.
The goal is really to evolve your Pokémon by taking care of it. Training will be part of your daily routine and this may be a problem for some, especially Pokémon fans who want to see many Pokémon everywhere, not just the worst in history.
This one is a noir puzzle game where you re-arrange panels of an animated comic book to change the outcome of the story. Taking place before the events of the original game, Framed 2 is the follow up to Hideo Kojima’s 2014 Game Of The Year, Framed.
Lumino City ($4.99)
Now available for Android platform, Lumino City is a game with really impressive graphics. The story revolves around a little girl called Lumi, who is trying to find her grandfather. The game environment is an intricate city painstakingly crafted by paper and scissors. The graphics take the paper aesthetic and unique depth of field and run with it, giving the Lumino City a distinct look. The puzzles and riddles aren’t always easy, but they’re manageable.
This is Gameloft’s latest RPG-style game with plenty of hack and slash action, though it’s more in the style of Wild Blood which they released a few years back than Dungeon Hunter. The game features gestures controls for movement and combat so they might take a little bit getting used to, but it’s definitely worth it as there is plenty to love about Iron Blade including extensive character progression, tons of items and gear to outfit your character, and the graphics are stunning.
PES2017 – Pro Evolution Soccer
This one’s for soccer fans! The PES series from Konami with its latest iteration, PES2017, players can use easy gesture controls to manipulate their players on the field. A simple swipe lets you pass while tapping on the screen will let you shoot. The game features a single-player mode but also allows for online multiplayer PvP so you can show everyone on the field who the champion is.
Galaxy on Fire 3 Manticore
This is for all the sci-fi fans and wannabe spaceship pilots. You feel a bit like the resistance in the Death Star attack, but the difference here is that you are not fighting for such a noble cause: you are a mercenary in a world where chaos is king.
The environment is relatively dark (as it’s set in space) so playing in a very sunny environment may not give the best results. While the scenario is a bit bleak, in the end that doesn’t matter, as the game is entertaining and free. Before you download the game, remember to connect by Wi-Fi because the game is at least 1 GB.
