Galaxy S10e Leaks : Samsung’s Answer To iPhone XR?
If you have been paying close attention to the smartphone industry as of late, you might have heard about iPhones not selling as much as Apple had hoped. In fact Apple’s most expensive iPhones, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max, are big let downs when it comes to sales with The iPhone XR, leading the sales number. And its no surprise why! Apple’s offerings are just too damn expensive and people are opting for the least expensive one of them. So naturally Samsung is also planning to go for that market. And if recent leaks are to be believed, the Galaxy S10e looks ready to take on the iPhone XR.
Samsung Galaxy S10e, previously leaked as the S10 lite, is the smallest of the S10 devices. The other two phones, the S10 and the S10+, have screen sizes north of 6 inches. The phone will have a flat, yes you heard that right no curved panel on this dude, 5.8 inches AMOLED panel with that signature hole-punch selfie camera. And taking a cue from Apple’s book, the top and side bezels are all symmetrical with a slightly larger chin at the bottom.
It’s what’s inside that matters
As you would expect from the latest flagship from Samsung’s camp the Galaxy S10e is all but confirmed to pack in either a Snapdragon 855 or an Exynos 9820. Whats more interesting is the storage and RAM configuration that will be on offer. Leaks suggest a 6GB/128GB model. This will apparently be the only model available. So you are getting a ton of internal storage and RAM. If you want more you would have to go with the other two devices.
Unfortunately to cut costs there will be no in-display fingerprint scanner there will be a side mounted one instead. Moving on to the back we get a dual camera system. Reportedly a 12MP main camera will be paired with a 16MP wide angle shooter. If numbers are anything, iPhone XR should be scared.
What will it cost?
Now if the following report is true, Samsung is going to sell a lot of the S10es. The S10e is going to be available in Europe for €749 ($857). If these prices are accurate US prices will be even more threatening to the iPhone XR, close to $750. These prices for the 128GB model seriously undercut the ridiculous iPhone XR pricing which costs €919 ($1052) for the 128GB version. Finally the phone will be released at MWC in the coming weeks.
