OnePlus 5 Rumored Specs and Leaks

OnePlus Smartphones are the best budget Smartphones. Probably that’s the reason for these devices popularity. Following the 2016 launch of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, next month the company will announce the OnePlus 5.

Were you expecting OnePlus 4? Well, thats not the news anymore. The next OnePlus flagship will be known as the OnePlus 5. It is confirmed, it would launch this summer.

The OnePlus 3T was one of the best budget smartphones of 2016. The device offers high-end specs and is a lot more affordable when compared with rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, and others. There are new leaked sketches of the device.

What we know so far about OnePlus 5

OnePlus 5 Design

Until now we didn’t know much about OnePlus 5 design. The new leaked sketches show dual front camera and ceramic back.

These sketches were leaked on Weibo. In the sketches, the dual rear camera on the back of the device is shown, surrounded by ceramic instead of glass. Also, the back is curved.

Some new leaked renders have emerged from India Today, and if real, they give us a good indication of the smartphone’s design. The image shows a dual camera and no fingerprint scanner on the back, indicating that the fingerprint sensor may be on the front under the display.

Other Specs

OnePlus 5 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with either Full HD or QHD resolution. It’s predecessor had the same.

According to post published on Weibo by Kumamoto Technology, the device will offer 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. However, we just might see another version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB. It will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset that is also found in the Samsung Galaxy S8.


5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 835, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, 12 MP rear dual camera, 8 MP front camera, front fingerprint scanner, Dash Charge 2.0 and Android Nougat-based OxygenOS.

Kumamoto Technology claims that the two cameras will be positioned horizontally, and not vertically.

Release Date And Price

The company doesn’t stick to an annual release date schedule as do other phone makers. It is coming sometime this summer, as OnePlus has recently confirmed this to The Verge (June, July).

The OnePlus 1 started at $299, its successor retailed for $329, while the OnePlus 3 was available for $399. The current flagship, the 3T, is the most expensive OnePlus $439. You can expect $500 for OnePlus 5 this year.
