Niantic has announced their actual Easter event, an “Eggstravaganza,” that does indeed use the egg theme as expected. Go Visit your local nests and stock up on the existing spawns. That includes any you might need to complete your Pokédex, medals, and build up your high-powered Pokémon. Egg Hatcher’s would love this event. As we know, the Tyranitar, Amphoros, Dragonite, Muk, and Chansey lines don’t nest. Magikarp sticks to water spawns that don’t migrate. Rhynhorn does nest, though, and so do the Pokémon you need to max out Gen 1 and Gen 2 starters and new triple-evolutions.
The Eggstravaganza Event
“ Lace up your walking shoes and get ready to put a spring in your step—the Pokémon GO Eggstravaganza has started. It’ll end at 1:00 P.M. PDT on April 20, 2017, a greater variety of Pokémon can now be found in 2 km Eggs, so get cracking and see what you find! Your Egg-venture doesn’t stop there, though—you’ll also earn more Candy for every Egg you hatch!
Throughout this Eggstravaganza, you’ll also level up even faster with double XP! Combine this Egg-cellent bonus with a Lucky Egg, and you’ll earn four times the XP you normally would. To make this Eggstravaganza even sweeter, Lucky Eggs will be 50% off in the in-game shop! ”
The event starts runs through April 20th, the usual week-long sprint for an event like this.
- 2 km eggs will hatch a greater range of Pokémon besides what’s normally in 2 km eggs
- You will get more candy per egg hatch. Not clear whether it’s double or not
- Lucky Eggs are 50% off in the item store for 4x XP.
Get out and discover what new Pokémon are at your local nests. Sometimes a previously great nest will go bad, and sometimes a common nest will start spawning rares. The only way to tell is to visit it a few times and see what pops up frequently or in number. That’s it!
