Valentine’s Day Event! Niantic Labs has something for Pokémon Go fans!
Fans of Pokémon Go who have been waiting patiently for developer Niantic Labs to add some major new updates. Well, a Valentine’s Day event went live in Pokémon Go. This special Valentine’s Day event runs from 11 a.m. PST February 8th thru 11 a.m. PST February 15th. Pokémon Go Fans can really get into the holiday spirit with plenty of candy, pink Pokémon and other special attractions.
There is plenty to be going on for the next week, here are the details.
Candies, Extended lures!
You need Candy to evolve your Pokemon and this week you’ll see Candies everywhere. Each time you catch, hatch, or evolve a Pokemon you’ll receive twice the normal amount of candy. It’s time to double the amount of Candy you’ll earn every time you catch, hatch, and transfer Pokémon. There’s more your buddy Pokémon will find Candy twice as fast.
Lure Module items will have a much longer activity time. Instead of their usual 30-minute duration, each lure that you set up will last for 6 hours straight. That’s awesome right? You will have much time to catch yourself some new Pokemon.
Valentine’s day event will give players a chance to see and catch more of the pink- colored Pokémon, pink Pokemon will show up more frequently. Chansey, Clefable, and a number of other pink Pokemon will be cropping up much more frequently. Meanwhile, while hatching eggs, you’ll be more likely to obtain a Cleffa, Smoochum, or Igglybuff. And remember! You will also get double the amount of Candy when you catch, hatch and transfer Pokémon.
Niantic Labs has not made a huge attempt to make improvements or add new content and features to the game for some time. This is Pokémon Go’s first seasonal event since December.
