Can’t download app with error code 940
Super Mario Run on Android is starting on version 2.0, which includes four colored Yoshis as additional playabale characters. However, you maybe facing an error while Downloading it. One reason is your rooted device. There could be other reasons too but we have here the solution. Android users who have their devices rooted won’t be able to download Super Mario Run from the Play Store. You will however see the install button and that it says it’s compatible with your device. But on hitting the install it gives the error “Can’t download app” with error code 940.
The reason for the error is the app developer has chosen to not allow installs on a rooted device. Guess what? You don’t need to worry about that, just sideload the app. When Play store doesn’t let you download an app, you can always get the APK file from third-party sources and sideload it to your device through the APK. That’s exactly what we are going to do here.
